Default Hero/Henchmen Update Suggestion

Searched for a few minutes, couldn't find a suggestion like this so.....

Few Things:

1) If we could use sweets on our heroes (i.e. Candy Corn, Golden Egg, etc) it would be really cool and fun to have my heroes as suped up as me. (18 or 19 fire magic ftw!)

2) I propose that we should be able to use Tonics on our henchmen and heroes, (imagine a whole H/H team of Candy Men!)

3) I would VERY much like it if we had a Henchmen Control panel that allows us to order them into different formations. For example, your VQ-ing an area that has high AoE damage. Have a command on a panel that is labeled "Spread Out" or "Disperse" to force the henchmen to not stand adjacent to each other. At the present moment you can only order henchmen as a group to single spot.
Example Formation:

7 Henchmen

............Hench1.........Hench2...........

Hench3..........Hench4.......Hench5

............Hench6.........Hench7........

This way, no henchmen is within adjacent range of another (unless they use a skill that requires it)

Pitfalls:

-More melee than casters
-Frontline henchmen are weak(AL, monks, etc)

Pros:

-Fewer deaths from Spike AoE
-More tactical advantage against large groups of enemies

The first one would be "alright" I guess, not that the help is really needed. But the second one is just to much and to be honest a total waste of update time.

Not awful ideas but they won't happen. Too much work for something that's 100% unnecessary and won't really improve the game.

1) im cool with always wondered why we weren't able to in the first place..but not really worth the devs time

2) no real use and would just be a waste of dev time.

Waste of coding time which could be far better spent elsewhere.

Not essentially a bad idea, just not anywhere near useful enough to justify spending the precious little development time GW1 gets these days.

(laughing alot)
i'm sry, but i think its weird to say "not worth their time" if they havent even had a word about it
it's their time, please dont say something wont happen, as thats what happened to full hero teams before, and now we get it anyway
/endofftopic

i like idea nr1, be able to use consumables for hench and heroes, although i think it's better for heroes than henchies, not just cuz of full hero coming up, but also because heroes are more made for customization of the teams, with setups like runes, insigs and weapons

so i would like to see my heroes being able to use a consumable (which i thought we could when heroes were new)
although, heroes using sugar, shouldn't count for title tracks

as for nr2, i think that wont happen, as it has no real use, unlike consumables, which grant something extra
also, for nr2, i dont care tbh

I don't see the reason to make the game even easier than it is now.

we already have these...

Armor of Salvation
Essence of Celerity
Grail of Might
Powerstone of Courage
Elixir of Valor
Honeycomb
Rainbow Candy Cane

thats just to name a few... the things you get at special weekends just special drops for players, no need to make the game even easier when weekend items are very easily farmable...

For tonics, as long as you don't get the points, that should be fine.

As for consumables, I would go only for DP removal ones. And, of course, you don't get the points.

Considering they want to add 7 heroes in PvE , thus make it a huge easy joke , i will say /signed especially for 2-. Considering we can't really use those tonics in explorable areas , i would like to be able to do it ..

Tonics could be fun.
Consumables? Nah. Let's avoid trivialising the game further shall we?

Hard mode can be difficult at times? I think that was intentional.

Everything stanzhao listed is party-wide and makes the H in HM stand for herpderp. If you're still struggling, maybe the problem is between your keyboard and chair. Try changing your strategy.

i never said Hard Mode was difficult, notice the quotes. My point was it would be nice to use DP remover or other cons on my heroes.
And yeah the tonic idea isnt exactly amazing but i figured they could do it at the same time as the first idea.

It would make the game much easier than it already is. If it's not the proposed change's motivation, then what is?

Essence of Celerity, Grail of Might, Armor of Salvation, Powerstone of Courage.

Use these and you'll have gotten basically all the effects of the sweets on all the party, AND it lasts 3 times as long.

As for tonics, nty. Just give us all the tonics in explorables instead.

I've updated my ideas a bit to better reflect my original intentions. Also, added another idea to help micro manage henchmen (only)

I know it'd be fun to have 19 fire magic on a hero, but wasting up cons on a hero would make the game much easier than it already is. That factor completely overbalances any fun it might provide.
The idea with hench-command button was suggested several times already.

Bring on perma sins on heros!!! not.

But if you could boost up the whole team with personal cons -real players- why couldnt the one player that wants to VQ ToA to ascalon do that same with their heros/hench? It would speed up the 20 area VQ at the cost of their own money

The idea to spread out henchmen and heros instead of them balling up all the time... is so good but ye its be said by so many people
-dear anet...-

To keep H/H teams subpar to decent - or at least working - human teams and retain some part of MMORPG.
